MEET OUR PASTOR
Pastor Dick, as he is most often called, grew up on a farm here in Fairlee. He graduated from The University of Vermont in 1970 with a degree in Animal Science and subsequently joined the Peace Corps, serving in Malaysia.
In 1974 he bought an old farm and currently has a small herd of Holsteins.
He is a lifelong member of the Fairlee Community Church and for many years served as a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent of the Sunday School.
According to Pastor Dick, his father always wanted him to be a minister, but it wasn't until 2006 when the Church was having difficulties finding a permanent pastor, that he heeded a call and offered to become our Pastor. Despite occasionally having to help birth calves right before morning services, he has missed only a couple of Sundays over the years to take a well deserved vacation.
His passion and love of our Lord and Savior are evident in his Sunday morning messages and the Church is blessed to have him as our pastor.

Located in beautiful Fairlee, Fairlee Community Church of Christ offers congregants a place of comfort, hope, and a peace of mind for all their worshipping needs. We are dedicated to spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ, and our goal is to inspire you through the holiness of our dwelling and our services. We invite you to become a part of our growing congregation, and look forward to meeting you!
Our church is a friendly family church where Christ is exalted. You will find a warm reception here. If you have no home church, you are invited to make this your church.
The Fairlee Church in earlier years was a federation of Methodist and Congregationalist, but for a number of years has been unaffiliated and you will find members within the Church family from a variety of Christian backgrounds. The common thread that holds us together is our love for Christ and desire to be counted among His disciples. We believe that everyone deserves an introduction to our Creator and His love as expressed in the ultimate sacrifice of His Son.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings. We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that the lost and sinful man must be saved, and that man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe in and practice the holy ordinance of water baptism, which signifies the believer's death, burial, and resurrection into new life with Christ Jesus, and the regular celebration of Holy Communion as commanded by our Lord.
We believe in the present ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; those that are saved into the resurrection of life and those that are unsaved into the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Though our Church is small, we understand the importance of reaching out with mission work, not only across the street, but also across the ocean, thus we support Christian efforts in foreign lands. One of the organizations we support is Heifer Project International which provides families in poor villages throughout the world with livestock and help in developing their ability to produce food for themselves and their neighbors.
We also support Operation Christmas Child Shoebox thru Samaritan's Purse
OUTREACH
We also support a group called Mercy In Action, a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to mercy ministry among the poor around the world. They provide midwife services and have three clinics/birthing centers in the Philippines. They also go to the homes of the people, whether it be in the mountains, jungles, or garbage dumps where the neediest live.
We are sending post natal items such as baby hats, onesies, blankets, and other layette items to them in the Philippines.

YOUTH MINISTRY
Like all communities, we treasure our children and offer Christian Youth Classes from September through the first of June. Children from the community perform an original pageant each Christmas which brings joy to all in attendance and helps us remember the "reason for the season”.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
